My connection to this ancient ancestral technology is rooted in the land with the knowledge that knots were first used to fish, farm, forage, and hunt. These tools, so essential to survival some were considered sacred, hung from the waist and were secured with knots made to symbolize natural elements such as plum flowers, butterflies, and ginger roots. I weave tangible strands with the intangible, present with the past, modern materials and old.
No tools are used, just my hands.
Each knot is made from a single cord with no waste.
Knots are double layered and identical on both sides.
